The people of the IOW are waiting to see if the forecast
could be nice to us twice in one month! For years Britain has been documented
false forecasts getting the hopes of million of people nationally to an all-time
high but… more snow is predicted for the 18th of March giving a late winter
feel to this spring ready country. Here on the IOW we are seeing what school
teachers are thinking and what plans are in place if we get another snow day.
Mrs Davie, teacher at Christ the King College told us: “I think another snow
day is very unlikely as we live on the Isle of Wight. She added that:
“Hopefully, if there is another ‘snow day’, the Island’s headteachers will call
it early so that people don’t take unnecessary risks getting to work / school.”
As crashes, school bus queries and truanting students all took place last snow
day, it will be interesting to see what actions will be put in place to prevent
any unneeded stress brought by the snow and ice.
We also interviewed a student at Christ the King college
called Caspar that had told us her thoughts on the apparent “snow weather forecast
“that is due to be next Sunday/Monday.
We asked her what her thoughts on the snow weather forecast and
what she would be doing. She replied that she doesn't like snow but liked the
idea of having a day of school this links with the low attendance when snow is
due to fall and students reactions to this. we also asked her what is her dream
snow day ad she replied: that a dream is throwing snow at her cousin on the Isle of Wight and having a “fab” time” this was food to hear and useful for
