To link or not to link: Should the Isle of Wight build a fixed link to the mainland?

The age-old topic of whether the Isle of Wight should be linked to the mainland via some form of bridge or tunnel is once again at the forefront of people's minds thanks to a couple of local businessmen who are proposing to build one.
