Pope Francis says teachers should get paid more (by Scott, Joe, Eddy and Lauryn)

“Teachers should be paid more,” according to Pope Francis, who believes that teachers do a lot in terms of setting the new generation on their way in life for an education and a job. We went to Christ the King College, where we interviewed teachers and students in order to learn their opinions.

Mr Brown, a Teaching Assistant in Food Technology from Christ the King College said, “Even though I teach food technology and do most of the cooking, I only earn a third of the pay that a teacher normally receives.” This is a prime example of what Pope Francis was talking about, and even though Mr Brown is a Teaching Assistant, he clearly states that he does most of the cooking in the full interview.

Even though there are the teachers that believe they don’t get paid enough for what they do, there are also the teachers that don’t care about the money and only wish to help their students get an education to lead them further in life. Mr Elsmore said, “If it was about the money, I would not have taken this job.” Mr Elsmore wishes only to see his students’ progress.
